Volumes growth forecasted at 5% for Russian sea ports this year

Volumes of freight traffic via Russia’s seaports has been projected at 520 million tons for 2010, 30 million tons over the numbers a year earlier, PortNews correspondent reports quoting Alexander Davydenko, the head of the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport of the Ministry of Transport of Russia in Moscow.

According to the Association of Sea Commercial Ports (Aconitum), cargo turnover at the seaports of Russia in 2009 totaled 496.4 million tons, or  a year-over-year 9.2% rise.
