Indonesian Pramoni tanker released for ransom

Somali pirates freed yesterday for ransom a Singapore-registered chemical tanker, M.T. PRAMONI with the crew members, Novosti RIA reports citing the command of the EU NAVFOR.

Pramoni Chemical tanker has left a pirate base in Eileen (north-east Somalia, the command statement says.

The amount of ransom paid was not disclosed. There were 24 crew members on board of Pramoni - 17 citizens of Indonesia, five Chinese and two, from Nigeria and Vietnam, none of the crew was hurt.

The Pramoni owned by Singapore-based GBLT Shipmanagement Pte. was seized by pirates on January 1st 2010 in the Gulf of Aden while heading for Kandla, India from Genoa, Italy.
