Russia is interested in cooperation with Finland in construction of ships of ice class

Russia is interested in cooperation with Finland in the construction of an ice-class vessels and equipment for Arctic exploration.  According to the press-service of RF Government, it was reported by Vladimir Putin, RF Prime Minister during a meeting with Tarja Halonen, President of Finland and the business community of the country.

"All the benefits of cooperation must be used in shipbuilding. It is a joint production of ships and services. In the morning my Danish colleague, Prime Minister Mr. Rasmussen and I opened a new transatlantic line between the port of St. Petersburg and Latin America. It is Danish Company, but the new ship has just been constructed at the shipyard, it is built in South Korea. I know it's about the shipyard’s capacity and the possibility to produce a competitive product of that size. But we have something to think about, and there is a field for cooperation. Promising areas here - the release of ice-class ships and other specialized equipment for the development of the Arctic regions. Such products we can use for our own needs and to supply the markets of third countries "- said Mr. Putin.
