Valeriy Reshetnikov appointed Senior Vice President of Russian Railways

The Board of Directors of RZD OJSC appointed Valeriy Reshetnikov Senior Vice President of RZD OJSC, Russian Railways, while Boris Lapidus was dismissed from the post of Senior Vice President of RZD and elected a member of the Board of RZD and General Director of VNIIZT (Research Institute of railway transport), a subsidiary of RZD OJSC, the Russian Railways press-service said.

Russian Railways, RZD OJSC was established by the Russian Govt on September 18, 2003 (№ 585). The Company has turned to be the first phase of reforming of the railway industry. The Russian Railways operational length is 85.200 km. According to the Company’s data its share in the country’s cargo turnover reaches 43% (taking into account the cars of FCC and other subsidiaries). Russian Railways and its subsidiaries fleet totals 624.900 freight cars of all types.
