GZD’s volume of containerized cargoes up 10%, 143.900 tons in January-February The volume of containerized cargo transported by the Gorky Railroad (GZD) in January-February 2010 grew by 10% as compared to the same period of 2009, up to 143.900 tons, the GZD press service said. The company’s share in the total loading of containerized cargo has reached 62%. GZD transported in January-February 89.200 tons. This is 2.3% higher than January-February 2009.
Containerized cargoes are transported by TransContainer’s branch on GZD. In 2009, the TC branch reconstructed a container terminal at the Kostarikha railyeard (Gorky department of GZD). It carried out renovation of the terminal facilities.
The branch cooperates with its partners Nefis-Cosmetics OJSC, Guardian-NN LLC, NMZHK OJSC, Volga OJSC, Tosol-Synthesis LLC, VMZ OJSC. In 2009, the company provides its services to scores of clients, including Votkinsky Plant OJSC, Megateh Ltd.
Gorky Railroad is a subsidiary of Russian Railways, RZD OJSC. The GZD operational length is 5.296.5 km. Last year the company transported 36.9 million tons of commodities.
