FCC starts pulp shipments to China

First Cargo Company (FCC) has delivered pulp consignment, some 1.500 tons to China, under the contract between the FCC and Fintrans Company, the FCC statement said. The cargo was shipped through the Zabaikalsk station to Manchuria.

By the end of March 2010 it is planned to transport more than 6.000 tons of pulp to China, with further volume growth. In April 12.000 tons of the product will be exported.

Rail cars, following from China, will be loaded with consumer goods at the transfer terminal of Zabaikalsk. The import volume is intended for the domestic market and CIS countries.

First Cargo Company founded in 2007 is the largest rail freight operator in Russia. The company operates its fleet of 205.000 rail cars making up 21% of all Russian railroads’ rolling stock (RZD - 41%, RZD branches - of 4%, Private fleet - 34%). In 2009 the volume of traffic by First Cargo Company OJSC was up 1.9 times as compared with 2008, totaled 231.8 million tons.
