    Seaports of Russia’s Azov Sea Basin handled 16.77 million tonnes of cargo in winter 2017-2018, up 63.8% Y-o-Y

    Seaports of Russia’s Azov Sea Basin handled 16.77 million tonnes in winter season of 2017-2018, up 63.8%, year-on-year, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Sergey Safonichev, head of Azov Sea Ports Administration, as saying at the open meeting of the Basin Committee in Rostov-on-Don.

    According to him, the growth was seen in all ports of the basin.

    In December 2017, the port of Taganrog showed an increase of 56.4% to 358,400 tonnes, the port of Rostov-on-Don – 69.6% to 1,647,700 tonnes, Azov – 66.1% to 935,000 tonnes, Temryuk – 44.4% to 397,000 tonnes, Kavkaz – 103.1% to 3,809,000 tonnes, Yeisk – 12.6% to 456,400 tonnes.

    In January 2018, the port of Taganrog handled 225,000 tonnes (+24.3%), Rostov-on-Don – 1,029,300 tonnes (+14.7%), Azov - 601,900 tonnes (+30.3%), Temryuk – 288,200 tonnes (+5.1%), Kavkaz – 1,988,600 (+50%). The decrease was only registered at the port of Yeisk which handled 286,100 tonnes (-15.7%).

    In February, the port of Taganrog handled 254,900 tonnes of cargo (+125.2%), Rostov-on-Don – 957,000 tonnes (+96%), Azov – 664,700 tonnes (+140.7%), Temryuk - 286,600 tonnes (+97.7%), Kavkaz – 2,283,100 tonnes (+85.7%), Yeisk – 309,000 tonnes (+60.4%).
