AVEVA launches its new AVEVA Marine product

AVEVA, the leading provider of plant and marine design and engineering lifecycle solutions, today launched AVEVA Marine at the AVEVA Marine Users' Meeting in Busan, Korea.
AVEVA Marine is a portfolio of integrated design and production products combined with open and flexible lifecycle management solutions.
"It delivers a completely new level of efficiency for design development in shipbuilding and floating offshore projects. AVEVA Marine provides completely new opportunities improving how to do ship design; where to do ship design, who to do ship design with; and how much ship design to do," stresses Dave Wheeldon, Group Product Development Director.
This is achieved with a full set of products that cover all design disciplines and set new levels of efficiency for creation and modification of design data.
Key developments in AVEVA Marine: -- A set of lifecycle management capabilities that enables all the work processes and information networks to be integrated and managed. -- Data Management as a standard feature of the unified Ship Model Database using proven AVEVA technology. -- Vastly improved outfit modelling with full 3D interface that gives a very large efficiency gain in modelling. Also very powerful and efficient tools for modification using the unique "graphical handle feature". -- Enhanced structural design capabilities which allow the creation, in only a few hours, of the structural model for classification documents. -- Uniform new .NET based GUI for improved productivity in all products. -- Advanced Customisation Tools using Microsoft .NET Technology.
Richard Longdon, CEO of AVEVA comments: "AVEVA Marine is the result of many years of continual development and accumulated shipbuilding and offshore engineering experience. It is the most advanced marine engineering software in the world.
AVEVA has a responsibility to our customers to make best use of new technologies in our products while at the same time protecting our customers' investments in data and know-how. The new products within AVEVA Marine deliver very significant innovations and are fully compatible with previous releases."
AVEVA Marine will be available for distribution in Q4 2007.
