Vat Logistics buys Ibercargo and Waalex
Vat Logistics has taken over Ibercargo and Waalex. Ibercargo is a groupage cargo specialist in the Iberian Peninsula, and Waalex deals with groupage for Italy. The takeover will be implemented with retrospective effect as of 1 January of this year. Both companies are moving to the head office of Vat Logistics in Rotterdam.
Vat Logistics has also started a new company along with its German partner CCG (Coolchaingroup) at veiling De Lier, where CCG Logistics owns a 2,800 m2 warehouse. The company specialises in the storage, handling and crossdocking of fruit and vegetables.
Vat Logistics further hopes to open a 26,000 m2 warehouse on the Maasvlakte in November this year. The company reports that its total investment for 2007 amounts to approximately 27 million Euros
