Sakhalin Energy is getting their own fleet
Sakhalin Energy Company, the operator of the "Sakhalin-2" project, signed contracts with various ship-yards to build five gas-carriers to transport the liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the plant in the South Sakhalin.According to the RIA "Novosti", with reference to the Head of the sea transportation and commercial operations department, Nick POTTER, after the plant reaching its project capacity up to 160 shipments of gas annually will be made. New gas-carriers will permit to accomplish up to 40% of all the shipments.It's reported also that the new vessels will have corresponding ice-class that would permit them to work in the Aniva bay.
