Astrakhan to build 60 000 displacement tankers
The Astrakhan based shipyards are ready to begin the construction of the tankers with the displacement of 60 thousand tons for the Caspian sea, ShipbuildingRu reports. The Governor of the Astrakhan region Alexander Zhilkin informed that local shipyards are “moving to partner relations with the customers”. According to the Governor 16 shipyards of the region make the whole range of the ships for transportation and oil extraction. In particular, about 70% of the hardware for oil projects in Sakhalin comes from Astrakhan. In the Caspian sea in October this year a drilling rig worth $800 million will start working. In summer there will be an order for a new rig with the expected cost of about $1,5 billion.
