Oslo Marine Group finalizes setting up of Vyborg Shipping Company
Petersburg holding Oslo Marine has opened its own shipping company, the Group’s press center reports. Vyborg Shipping Company, Ltd is registered under Russian flag in the port of St. Petersburg. According to the management of Oslo Marine Group, the advantages of the new company are its new fleet, own cargo line ensuring short run link of Vyborg with one of European ports and port facilities of Onega terminal currently operating in St. Petersburg. In the nearest future Vyborg Shipping Company will get its first vessel (it is planned to acquire 10 new container carriers flying Russian flag).The new shipping company is to specialize in container transportation. The company will contribute to a planned increase of export shipment of sawn timber. The navigation area of the vessels will initially include the Baltic and the North Seas between the ports of North Europe. In Russia, the main port of call will be Vyborg.
Oslo Marine Group was set up in 1999. As of today, the group is a multifunctional structure engaged in different sphere mainly insurance, leasing, real estate, treatment and sale of timber, port services. The holding’s consolidated assets total RUR 8.5 billion. The Holding’s plans cover development of its activities in port and timber industries.
