Port of Taicang (China) transshipments up 35.6pc
From January to May, cargo transshipped via the Chinese port of Taicang amounted to 694,489 tons, an increase of 35.6 per cent over the same period a year ago.
Within this total, 38,499 tons were for export, with the volume up 110 per cent year on year, reports Xinhua.
The state media attributed the sharp growth in exports to the higher number of shipping lines calling at the port in recent years. There are now 38 international and domestic shipping services making stops at the port of Taicang.
