Throughput of Murmansk Commercial Seaport down 5.8% in Jan-June, 07, y-o-y
In January-June, 2007, Commercial Seaport of Murmansk decreased its throughput by 5.8%, year-on-year, to 6.852 million tonnes, the company reports. In the first half of 2007 the company handled 99,960 wagons and 258 vessels. In June, cargo transshipment grew by 16% to 1.356 million tonnes including 38.5 thou tonnes of general cargo, 318.4 thou tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+15.4%, year-on-year). Export totaled 330.635 thou tonnes (+14.1%), including 1.146.6 million tonnes of coal, 161.5 thou tonnes of apatite, 9.1 thou tonnes of non-ferrous metal. In June the port handled 44 vessels and 17,228 wagons including 13,945 wagons with coal.
