Throughput of Sea Port of St. Petersburg up 17% in H1 07, y-o-y
In H1 2007, stevedoring companies of Sea Port of St. Petersburg OJSC handled 6.056 million tonnes of cargo (+17%, year-on-year), the company’s press release states. The company attributes the increase to improvement of handling processes. First Stevedoring Company handled 2.593 million tonnes of cargo (+1%, year-on-year), Second Stevedoring Company – 1.046 mt (+13%, year-on-year, Forth Stevedoring Company – 2.162 million tonnes (+67%, year-on-year). The decrease of Third Stevedoring Company (-18%, to 254 thou tonnes) is attributed to unfavorable situation at the market. The highest results were demonstrated in the sector of loose dry cargo and bulk cargo (2.291 million tonnes) and packaged goods (3.022 million tonnes).
