Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone Jan-May cargo volume soars 104pc
During the first five months of this year, cargo throughput at the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone rose 104 per cent year on year to 4.04 million tons.
Cargo dollar volume stood at US$4.1 billion, surging 117 per cent, and accounting for 68 per cent of last year's total. Tariffs collected by the Zhangjiagang FTZ customs during this period amounted to 57 per cent of last year's total.
The report of the mainland publication, Logistics Week, said the surge was largely the result of efforts of local customs' effort to simplify procedures, which led to greater efficiency.
