Container terminal construction to begin in Bulgaria by the end of 2007
Construction of the new port terminal that will handle containers in Varna would start by the end of the year, according to the chairperson of the city municipal council Borislav Gutsanov.
Assessments of the effect the terminal would have on the local environment will probably be completed by the end of July 2007, Intellinews reported. September 2007 would be the earliest date for the start of financial negotiations on the project. The Varna port terminal will be the first such facility in Bulgaria.
The facility is expected to cost about 100 million euro.
