Throughput of the port of Sillamae (Estonia) exceeds 1million tones in H1 07
According to Anton Hans, marketing director of the port of Sillamae, in January-June 2007, the port handled 1.014.805 million tonnes of cargo, RZD-Partner reports. Oil products account for 55.1% of cargo flow, petroleum chemistry – 11.3%, general cargo – 20.1%, ro-ro – 13.5%.
The port of Sillamae is located 25 kilometers from the Russian border in the north-east of Estonia. The port started operation in 2005. It comprises six terminals for transshipment of oil products, liquid chemicals, general, outsized and ro-ro cargo, liquefied gas and fertilizers as well as a passenger terminal.
