Regular routes of cargo ferries Ust-Luga-Baltiysk-German ports to start by yearend
Regular routes of cargo ferries Ust-Luga-Baltiysk-German ports will start operation by the yearend, Vladimir Yakunin, President of Russian Railways OJSC, told when visiting Kaliningrad, KNIA reports. The ferry crossing was scheduled to be put into operation in July 2007. In 2006 there were a number of test runs though regular routs have not commenced yet. Yakunin attributes the delay to legal aspects rather than to technological problems. “It is a mixed route regulated by special norms to be approved at the level of ministries,” RZD President says.
