Germany's Port of Hamburg saw 14.3 percent growth in container throughput to 4.8 million TEUs in the first six months of 2007. Hamburg's result is on par with its closest European rivals. The region's largest port, Rotterdam, achieved a 13 percent jump to 5.3 million TEUs in the first half, while Belgium's Antwerp grew 14.6 percent to 4.02 million TEUs.
