Singapore boxship held in Taiwan after deadly ferry collision

Cheng Lie Navigation's (CNC) Singapore-flagged 1,470-TEU Kuo Fu has been detained by authorities after capsizing the 49-ton Pacific Ocean 168 ferry, resulting in the expected loss of seven missing Chinese fishermen off Port Keelung in Taiwan.
The ferry, carrying 71 people, was taking mainland Chinese fishermen contracted to work on Taiwanese fishing boats, AFP reported.
Helicopters and boats searched for the missing men after the ferry capsized, but hopes faded three days after the search began on Saturday given the cold water. The 64 others on board, including a Taiwanese skipper and engineer, were rescued.
