In 2007, Murmansk Commercial Seaport handled 14.4 million tonnes of cargo. In the reported period it handled211,298 wagons and 567 vessels. In December, the port’s throughput totaled 1.487 million tonnes of cargo (+34%, year-on-year). Transshipment of export cargo amounted to 1.435 million tonnes (+36.8%, year-on-year) including 1.15 million tonnes of coal, 195,500 tonnes of apatite, 11,000 tonnes of non-ferrous metal. Transshipment of general cargo totaled 69,600 tonnes (75.2% against the same period of the previous year), dry bulk – 1.4 million tonnes (+39.2%, year-on-year). In December the port handled 20,080 wagons including 14,778 wagons with coal, and 55 vessels.
