Nord Stream revises cost estimates

A revised cost estimate for the Nord Stream pipeline will be presented in March, company spokesman Jens Muller told reporters in Stockholm.

The project’s price tag will exceed the initial estimate of 7.3 billion USD, Mr. Muller confirmed. The 1200 km long Nord Stream pipeline will stretch across the Baltic Sea from Russian Vyborg to German Greifswald.

The pipeline is planned to carry 55 billion cubic meters of gas each year. Nord Stream will be connected with a pipeline from the Shtokman field in the Barents Sea.
