Valmet Automotive (Finland) eyeing automobile assembling in Leningrad region
Finnish Valmet Automotive is eyeing location of its plant arranging services on assembling of automobiles in the Leningrad region, the region’s press center reports. The company assembles Porsche Boxter and Porsche Cayman in Uusikaupunki (Finland) under a log-term contract with Porsche AG. The investors are looking for an appropriate site with facilities to be reequipped with new production lines.
The Committee of Economic Development and Investment Activities provided the Finnish investors with four proposals. Representatives of the Finnish company have not disclosed any information concerning the models to be assembled at new facilities. The first phase of the project is to assemble 10,000 automobiles per year.
