Multipurpose salvage vessel Murman, Project MPSV06, built by Nordic Yards Wismar GmbH arrived in Murmansk on November 30. Having passed the Baltic Straits in stormy weather conditions and after sailing along the Norwegian coast, the 7MW ship of Icebreaker 6 class moored at the off-harbour anchorage in the Kola Bay. It took a week for Murman team to test the equipment intended for rescue / towing / fire fighting operations that can be performed in challenging conditions.

When commenting on the Murman, shipmaster Victor Boldinov told IAA PortNews correspondent that the ship was completely ready with no remarks, mechanisms’ operation was normal, good maneuverability was proved during mooring at port Stavanger (Norway), where the Murman was fueled on her way to Murmansk.

Here is a photo report of IAA PortNews correspondent on the 1,900- mile voyage and operation of the experienced team onboard the Murman.
