Flag hoisting on Vympel built fast patrol cutter 'Mangust”
A ceremonial flag raising was held on May 6 2016 in Vysotsk aboard the fast patrol boat Mangust (Mongoose, Hull No 02641). The ceremony was held at Vysotsk boarder patrol fleet base, the shipbuilding company said.
Before flag hosting the order of the chief of the Russian FSB Border Department for St. Petersburg and Leningrad region on commissioning the vessel into service was read out. The flag of the Border Service of the FSB Russia was handed over to the patrol boat commander, which was hoisted together with commissioning pennants under the Russian national anthem.
The Mangust class fast patrol cutters (Project 12150) have been built at Vympel Shipyard since 2001. So far the shipyard has built 69 boats for the various customers: the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Federal Customs Service and others.
This is the first series of fast patrol cutters powered by new engines manufactured by Zvezda company.
