Vympel Shipyard launches lead Grachonok-class boat, Project 21980, built for RF Defence Ministry (photo)
On June 7, 2015, Vympel Shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) launched the lead anti-terror boat of Project 21980 in the series of four Grachonok-class boats under construction for RF Ministry of Defence, says the shipyard.
Upon completion of the mooring trials the boat will leave for the Gadzhiyevo base to undergo the sea trials and the state tests. Then the boat will join Russia’s Northern Fleet.
The boat was laid down in March 2014.
