    The Scania equipment will be installed on new ships of project А40-2B YAR

         SPB Marine  has signed a contract with "Yaroslavsky Shipbuilding Plant" for supply of a set of equipment for boom ships of project A40-2B-YAR.

         The first ship of the project was built at the Nobel Shipyard in 2010. Many companies including CAT, Volvo, Baudouin, and MAN were considered as a possible supplier of the propulsion system. However, the customer has chosen solution by  SPB Marine with a Scania engine and Twin Disc MGX gear. Since then, SPB Marine is always supply and make commissioning the equipment for all ships of this project.

         Under the just signed contract, the supply is already underway for the 13th and 14th vessels of project A40-2B-YAR, which, unlike all such hulls before, are built under the supervision of the Russian River Register.

         The ships are designed for emergency rescue and following operations:

     – transportation of means of oil spill response in coastal areas;

     – containment of oil spill by deploying oil booms;

     –  oil spill response by collecting the spill in floating tanks;

     – search and rescue of people and objects at sea.
