Participants of conference ‘Russian International Register of Vessels’ work out recommendations
Participants of the conference ‘Russian International Register of Vessels: practice, problems and perspectives’ held on April 16, 2008 in St. Petersburg has worked out recommendations related to legislation improvement. They are targeted at raising the efficiency and attractiveness of Russian International Register of Vessels.
Having considered the issues of Register’s functioning, the conditions and perspectives for return of vessels controlled by Russian ship owners to the national flag of Russia as well as aspects of shipbuilding, classification, insurance, taxation and customs clearance the participants came to a conclusion that the Register solves the tasks set up when establishing it. The RF Government has issued necessary legal instruments making it possible to put the Register into complete operation. The recommendations have been furnished to the Ministries of Transport, Finance, Energy and Economic Development.
