New Russian seaport in South basin (Taman) opened
Legal implementation of a new seaport in the South basin was fully completed. As PortNews IAA learnt from FGUP Rosmorport, Taman (Krasnodar krai, Taman Bay, the Strait of Kerch ) seaport is open for services provision under the Regulation by the RF Ministry of Transport N169 dated September 23, 2009. The port boundaries were defined earlier under the RF Regulation №1837-r, dated December 8, 2008.
Construction of a new port in the Taman Peninsular is defined by the concept of development of the ports of Kranodar krai and by the federal target program ‘Russian transportation system modernization (2002-2010)’. The port is specialized in work with liquid cargo (petroleum products, liquefied gas, and mineral fertilizers). The overall volume of the planned shipment is 36 mln tons annually. General scheme of Taman port development was approved on March 31, 2004 by the RF Ministry of Transport Regulation № VR-53-R.
Taman port transhipped 70, 000 tons of liquid cargoes as of 10-month period results.
Within the period January-October, 2009 the volume of cargo transhipped by the seaports of the Azov-Black Sea region (Taganrog, Taman, Yeisk, Novorossiisk, Sochi, Tuapse) amounted to133 mln tons (+ 7% against the corresponding period of 2008). As of Q I-III, 2009 results incomes of all the FGUP Rosmorport branches of Azov-Black Sea region amounted to RUR2.3 bln (+3% against the corresponding period of 2008).
