Bilateral trade of Russia, Ukraine reaches pre-crisis volume
Russia and Ukraine are near the pre-crisis level of trade, Russian govt press service said quoting Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin meeting with his Ukraine colleague Nikolai Azarov.
"Not only in the gas sector, but also in many other areas the situation is even. This is possible as we are recovering: last year’s trade slumped from 40 billion to some 22 billion, but this year, in the first four months of this year, it increased by 2 times. In fact, we are approaching the pre-crisis level of trade turnover. This is a very good sign" Mr. Putin was quoted as saying.
According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov, the growth of trade – is the result, primarily, of the normalization of bilateral relations in political sphere.
"This shows clearly that our relations are developing normally" Mr. Azarov said.
