Spetsmorneftport Primorsk LLC (Leningrad region, subsidiary of Transneft joint-stock company) in January-July 2006 raised oil export by 12.4% up to 37.1 37097.5 thou tons. This information has been provided to PortNews IAA at the Administration of Sea Port Saint Petersburg FSA. In July of the current year oil export raised by 13.8% as compared with July 2005 amounting to 5522.9 thou tons. The port was put into operation on December 27, 2001 as a final element of the first stage of Baltic pipeline system (BPS) aimed at oil transportation from Timano-Pechorskaya and Western-Siberian oil-and-gas bearings, as well as from Kazakhstan. At that moment BTS’s capacity was 12 million tons a year. In 2003 annual capacity of BPS increased to 30 million tons of oil. Today its throughput is 65 million tons.
