Brazilia renegotiates all ports contracts
The Brazilian government is to renegotiate all contracts that ports have with the state, municipal government or private sector to allow it to have more influence in how they are managed, Port Strategy reports. The renegotiation is also designed to give the government a say in investment in civil works such as dredging and capacity expansion.
This will affect 16 ports handling around 90m tonnes of cargo, equivalent to 32% of all Brazilian seafreight.
