APL appoints new president for its North Asia business
APL appointed Wong Siew Loong regional president of its North Asia business, which covers China, Japan and Korea, the Journal of Commerce reported.
He brings 15 years of experience at the container line, most recently as vice president of the Asia-Europe trade. Wong will be based in Shanghai and report directly to recently appointed APL President Kenneth Glenn.
“I am confident he is the right person to steer our North Asia business, an integral part of APL’s global liner activities,” Glenn said. “His familiarity with the region and knowledge of the trade, combined with his leadership qualities, will ensure continued customer focus and growth in North Asia.”
