Stevedoring companies of Leningrad Region in January-July 2006 increased volume of cargo handled in the water area of the ports of the Gulf of Finland over January-July 2006 by 17.4% amounting to 39.2 million tons as compared to the results of January-July of the previous year. This information has been provided by the press service of the Leningrad Region government. Major growth of cargo turnover falls upon the activities of Primorsk port: it transhipped about 31.7 million tons of oil for export and handled 316 tankers. Vysotsk port handled 6.0332 million tons of cargo. Besides, coal terminal of Port Vysotskyi LLC shipped 1.9568 million tons of coal from the beginning of the year. Export transhipment of oil products by LUKOIL-2 oil terminal amounted to 4.074 million tons. Cargo turnover of Vyborg port increased to 447.7 thou tons. Basic part of cargo flow is timber (193.2 thou tons) and chemical cargo (86 thou tons). Rosterminalugol company exported 1.0389 thou tons of cargo. Factor timber terminal exported 95.6 thou tons of round timber. Total volume of oil transhipment of Baltnefteprovod LLC increased over the first-half by 5.7% amounting to 51.5 million tons.
