Sea Anemos delivers to Odessa 580 Hyundai autos
The Panama-flagged Sea Anemos docked on Friday at Ukraine’s Odessa Commercial Sea Port (OCSP) with 580 vehicles on board manufactured by Hyundai Motor Company, the Port Authority said.
This is the thirteenth shipment of imported vehicles handled this year at the port of Odessa, with one more Ro-Ro cargo carrier expected at the port by the end of this year. Overall, the port’s rolling cargo terminal located at Pier 36 has handled 5899 imported cars, since its commissioning in 2009. In 2010, the Odessa port’s vehicles storage facility handled 10 shipments of imported cars totaling 5120 units.
State-owned Odessa Commercial Sea Port is a largest port in the Black Sea-Azov basin. The port encompasses 14 ha, 9-km waterfront and 54 berths. The port is able to handle annually 14 million tons of dry cargo and the same volume of petroleum products. Passenger terminal can accommodate 300-m vessels. In 2010, Odessa saw 72 calls of foreign-flagged cruise ships. Last year cargo throughput of OCSP was down 11.8% year-on-year, to 24.7 million tons.
