SCF posts net income of $ 53.7m for FY 2011, a threefold slump
In the reporting period, the Group managed to expand its total fleet to 155 owned and chartered vessels, representing 11.5 million tonnes DWT (2010:147 vessels).
In 2011, the carrier consolidated its market position in shuttle tanker segment through acquisition of 6-strong fleet servicing Sakhalin projects.
During the period the company demonstrated robust growth in its Offshore Development Services segment – TCE revenue soared 49.7% to $ 181.0 million (2010: $ 121,0 million).
The Group boasts that its Suezmax tanker Vladimir Tikhonov (160,000 DWT) has become the largest vessel to transit the Northern Sea Route, carrying a cargo of 120,000 tonnes of gas condensate.
In 2011, Sovcomflot signed a long-term time charter agreement with Gazprom Global LNG Limited (GGLNG) for two ultra-modern Tri-Fuel Diesel Electric (TFDE) ice-class LNG-carriers of nearly 170,000 cubic meters cargo capacity.
SCF Group entered a new offshore sector with Aframax tanker Adygea, which has commenced serving Statoil-operated Peregrino oilfield in Brazil. Marine seismic operations begun with new generation hi-tech X-bow 3D 1-A ice class vessel Vyacheslav Tikhonov.
In 2011, the Group opened its first office outside Europe – SCF Unicom Singapore to address the potential of Asia.
