    Gazprom and Rosneft to use 5 offshore sections of subsoil resources without tenders

    Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree on granting the rights for geological surveys, geological exploration and mining of natural resources conducted under a combined license at 5 off-shore sections of subsoil resources to Gazprom (3 sections) and Rosneft (2 sections). The Document is published at the website of RF Government.

    Gazprom is to use Nyarmeisky, Skuratovsky and Maritime section of the surface resources; Rosneft -  Albanovsky and Varneksky sections.

    The Albanovsky section of subsoil resources of federal significance has an area of 51,493 square kilometres. Predicted deposits of oil, gas, and gas condensate at the Albanovsky field based on the quantitative assessment of hydrocarbons resources section of the Russian Federation for Category Dare estimated as of 1 January 2009 at 144.2 million tons of oil (geological deposits), 43.3 million tons (recoverable); 1,254.4 billon cubic metres of gas; 43.3 million tons of gas condensate (geological), 30.3 million tons (recoverable).

    The Varneksky section of subsoil resources of federal significance has an area of 12,836.2 square kilometers. Predicted deposits of hydrocarbonss at the Varneksky field based on the quantitative assessment of hydrocarbon resources section of the Russian Federation for Category Dare estimated as of 1 January 2009 at 2,081.2 million tons (geological deposits), 542 million 43.3 million tons (recoverable).

    The Maritime section of the surface resources of federal significance has an area of 952 square kilometers. Predicted deposits of gas and gas condensate at the Maritime section based on the quantitative assessment of hydrocarbons resources section of the Russian Federation for Category Dare estimated as of 1 January 2009 at 61.3 billion cubic metres of gas (under D1l category), 78.8 billion (under D1 category); 1.1 million tons of gas condensate (geological deposits under D1l category), 0.9 million tons (recoverable under D1l category), 1.6 million tons (geological deposits under D1 category), 1.3 million tons ( recoverable under D1category).

    The Nyarmeisky section of subsoil resources of federal significance has an area of 3,504.7 square kilometres. Predicted deposits of hydrocarbons at the Nyarmeisky subsoil section based on the quantitative assessment of hydrocarbons resources section of the Russian Federation for Category D1l are estimated as of 1 January 2009 at 1,403.389 billion cubic metres of gas; 82.214 million tons of gas condensate (geological), 12.74 million tons (recoverable).

    The Skuratovsky section of subsoil resources of federal significance has an area of 2,882.3 square kilometres. Predicted deposits of hydrocarbons at the Skuratovsky subsoil section based on the quantitative assessment of hydrocarbons resources section of the Russian Federation for Category D1l are estimated as of 1 January 2009 at 1401.936 billion cubic metres of gas; 51.515 million tons of gas condensate (geological), 10.305million tons (recoverable).

    In accordance with Article 40 of the Law of the Russian Federation on Subsoil Resources, subsoil resource users granted the right to use the subsoil pay a lump sum. The amount of the lump sum is determined in accordance with the Resolution of the Russian Government No. 94 of 4 February 2009 as 454.577 million roubles for the Albanovsly subsoil, 976.64 million roubles for the Varneksky section, 70.487 million roubles for the Maritime section, 542.65 million roubles the Nyarmeisky section, and 557.038 million roubles for the Skuratovsky subsoil section.
