OOCL raises U.S. rates
OOCL announced a general rate increase for U.S. shipments that aligns with rate hikes among other ocean carriers attempting to end the recent price war that had some losing money on each transit.
The GRI for all dry and reefer shipments will go into effect Sept. 1.
For ports and points on the U.S. West Coast, OOCL will add $120 per 20-foot container and $150 per 40-foot container for dry cargo. The increase for refrigerated cargo will be $200 per TEU and $250 per FEU.
For U.S. East Coast and inland points, dry cargo fees will go up $160 per TEU and $200 per FEU. Refrigerated cargo fees will be increased $240 per TEU and $300 per FEU.
