NOL moves 11 pct less cargo in 4 weeks to July 24
Singapore's Neptune Orient Lines the world's fifth biggest container shipping firm, said on Monday it carried 11 percent fewer containers in the four weeks to July 24 versus a year ago.
NOL said in a statement it carried the equivalent of 187,400 40-foot containers on its ships in the period, down from 209,800 a year earlier.
The average revenue from each container fell 29 percent from a year ago to $2,219. The revenue per container was, however, slightly higher than the $2,190 recorded for the preceding four-week period ended June 26.
