Oil spill caused by HPP accident fully removed
Rescuers have fully removed the oil spill that appeared after the accident at the Sayano-Shushenskaya hydro power plant, Interfax reports.
The press service of the Siberian regional center of the Emergency Situations' Ministry told Interfax on Monday that most of the spill that spread over more than 80 kilometers was collected in the Maina man-made lake.
Immediately after the accident the bulk of the oil was stopped by booms within the man-made lake. "The part of the spill which spread down the Yenisei river over 80 kilometers has been collected with the application of sorbent agents," the press service said.
