Libyan port of Tripoli closed until early September
The Libyan port of Tripoli has been closed to all commercial activities with immediate effect until September 3, Greece-based bunker trader and broker Medstone told Bunkerworld today.
It said the closure from August 25 to early September follows an order from the port authorities.
The port closure was due to current and forthcoming events being held in Tripoli, "namely the OAU conference and the national festivities being held to celebrate the Libyan Revolution," Medstone said.
"All ships currently in the port are being sent to anchorage till the port is re-opened," it added.
It also advised that no supply of bunkers would be possible until on or around September 6-7 as a result of the port closure.
Medstone offers bunkering services across the Middle East and North Africa in association with Alshic Bunkers.
