Romania opens specialized container terminal at Lower Danube
Romania has completed construction of a specialized container terminal at the Lower Danube. The terminal opened within the Galati seaport is to improve the logistics of the sea-and-river container transportation. The capacity of the new terminal is 30,000 TEU per year, RZD-Partner reports. The project has been financed by the state in the person of Galati port administration.
The interest to sea-and-river transportation of containers has already been expressed by ZIM, CMA CGM, MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, CSAV Norasia and other container carriers.
