Lithuania linked with European Register of Road Transport Undertakings
Starting from 5 September, 2014, Lithuania, represented by the State Road Transport Inspectorate under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, linked national electronic register of road transport undertakings with the European Register of Road Transport Undertakings (ERRU), press center of the Ministry says.
ERRU permits the EU Member States‘competent authorities to exchange information on road transport undertakings, their compliance with the rules in force, penalties imposed and conditions to be complied with to pursue the occupation of road transport operator.
The exchanged information allows improving road transport organization, setting up measures for more effective control of road transport operators and undertakings and improving road safety.
ERRU is a national electronic interconnection system. The set-up of the national registers and their interconnections are required under the European Parliament and the Council legislation adopted in October 21, 2009.
