Sovcomflot registered in Saint Petersburg
Sovcomflot OJSC was registered in Saint Petersburg on December 5, Sergei Frank, Director General of Sovcomflot, told at the meeting of Marine Council under Saint Petersburg Government. “We want to be a global leader in our segment of transportation and we consider Saint Petersburg to be a proper place to manage our business,” Frank said. He added that Sovcomflot’s investments into Saint Petersburg shipbuilding totals $120 million in 2006. “It exceeds the volume of all our previous investments”. According to a decision taken by the company’s BOD, this level of investments is to be kept till 2010. Today Sovcomflot considers the possibility to build sea shuttles in Saint Petersburg to serve hydrocarbon fields in Pechora Sea. “We also want to build LNG vessel here,” he said.
