While the upstream oil and gas industry enters another uncertain time, the midstream industry ushers in a new season where a cyclical market dynamics is now at play. Business booms for this industry, where demand for storage continues to soar and new market segments are starting to pick-up again. The boom in the current bust is the increasing demand for oil storage securing businesses for storage companies and the tanker companies whose vessels are now in demand as an alternative floating terminals and storage tanks.

As the industry slowdown bites in terms of project developments and spending, with some of the biggest oil and gas companies halting investments and cut cost across segments, many new industries, transformative technologies, and market innovations are starting to emerge which did not exist a few years ago. Often the uncertainty of the market forces companies to become more efficient finding ways to work smarter and more cost-effectively to help ride out the storm.
