Qatargas and ConocoPhillips sign Incident Assistance Agreement
Qatargas and ConocoPhillips have signed an Incident Assistance Agreement that will further enhance the Qatargas Response Management System, the company said in its press release.
The agreement will facilitate providing technical expertise to effectively respond to an emergency incident. The first and foremost goal of Qatargas is to operate safely. However, should an incident occur, Qatargas is prepared to rapidly and effectively respond to bring the incident under control to protect its people, assets, the environment, and the reputation of the company, its shareholders and the State of Qatar.
ConocoPhillips, one of the shareholders in the Qatargas 3 joint venture, is the world’s largest independent Exploration and Production Company based on production and proved reserves. Headquartered in Houston, ConocoPhillips has a proven track record of responsibly and efficiently finding and producing oil and natural gas. The key focus areas for ConocoPhillips include safely operating producing assets, executing major developments and exploration for new resources in promising areas. ConocoPhillips has established close, collaborative relationships with Qatargas and now by this agreement support Qatargas emergency response operations.
