Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports down 21.7% to 8.83 mln t in Jan'16

In January 2016, seaports of Ukraine handled 8,830,000 t of cargo (+21.7%), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

Transshipment of export cargo totaled 6.24 mln t, import – 1.63 mln t, transit – 938,000 t, inland traffic – 25,000 t.

Container throughput in seaports of Ukraine totaled 40,734 TEUs (-8%, year-on-year).

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 2.73 mln t (31% of total volume). Other port operators (mostly private operators) handled 6.09 mln t (69% of total volume) including 3.31 mln t handled via USPA berths (38% of total volume).
