Flag hoisting ceremony for Rosneft Sakhalin tanker built by Zvezda shipyard will be held in September 2016
The flag hoisting ceremony for the tanker named Rosneft Sakhalin which is under construction at the Far Eastern Plant “Zvezda” (Bolshoi Kamen, Primorsky Territory) will be held in the framework of the 2nd Eastern Economic Forum in Primorje (September 2-3, 2016). This has been announced today, at the meeting on construction of a shipbuilding complex chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin, says press center of the Primorsky Territory.
The meeting featured the representatives of RF Government, Board of the Military and Industrial Commission, Far East development Fund, Far East Development Corporation and Primorsky Territory Administration.
In his opening speech Dmitry Rogozin said that the ambitious construction project is in full swing now.
“Creation of a shipyard for construction of Arctic class vessels will let stop pulling of the funds out of the country and will allow for implementation of large scale, I would say great, plans on development of the Arctic shelf accounting for up to 80% of the country’s gas fields,” said Dmitry Rogozin.
Andrey Shishkin, Vice-President for Energy, Localization and Innovation of Rosneft, told the meeting participants about the current status of the project implementation. He said the shipyard would be able to demonstrate its first results during the 2nd Eastern Economic Forum.
The Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex is being built by a Consortium of Rosneftegaz, Rosneft and Gazprombank on the basis of the Far Eastern Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Center. Pilot work load for the Complex is provided by Rosneft, which made an exclusive agreement with FESRC to place all orders for new marine equipment and vessels with its facilities, as well as contracts for the design, construction and delivery of two multipurpose ice-class supply vessels. The new 100 meter-long ships will be able to operate in the most severe conditions for Rosneft offshore projects in the northern seas. In addition, two more supply vessels will also be built.
