Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and Palmali sign a set of five-year agreements
Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) and Palmali Shipping Company have signed a set of five-year agreements based on which RS will render the whole range of services on classification and statutory surveys of ships, RS said in its press release.
Subject of the agreements concluded are 49 ships (oil tankers, chemical tankers and dry cargo ships) with the total deadweight 380 000 t. The average fleet age is 9 years.
“This event is significant as demonstration of confidence in the Register from one of the world’s leading operators. Signing of the agreements is considered by RS as an extension of our strategic cooperation”, noted Kostantin Palnikov, RS Director General.
Russian Maritime Register of Shipping provides the whole range of the classification and statutory surveys: periodical, special (including hull and machinery), annual, intermediate surveys, surveys of outside of the ship's bottom, boilers and active means of the ship’s steering.
Palmali Group of Companies was established in 1998. One of the leading shipping companies in the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea region. The company operates the fleet consisting of over 100 ships with the cargo carrying capacity from 2 000 to 165 000 t.
Oil tankers of river-sea navigation, project RST22 have been built for Palmali under the RS survey for the carriage of crude oil, fuel oil, diesel oil, gasoline and other oil products with no flash point limit and the maintenance of the cargo temperature at 50 ºC. Therewith, the simultaneous transportation of 3 kinds of cargo is provided.
